Spoken Word
The tithe is ten percent of our income, and it should be given to God faithfully (see Gen 14:19-20; Lev 27:30; Mal 3: 8-9; Matt 23:23). Tithing honors the biblical principles of generously providing for religious leaders, giving to those in need, and laying up treasures in heaven. The Bible encourages us to give the first part of our resources to God as an expression of gratitude. By tithing, we honour God as our provider and remind ourselves that all of our resources belong to Him and are provided through His grace.
There’s a lot more to know about tithing and our Spoken Word ministers have put it all together right here. Be blessed!
An order from God
To fund the treasury of God
Just ten percent of the favour from God
Make the church grow
Pay your tithe!

They say if wishes were horses, then beggars will ride
So if the Lord will grant my wishes
Then a tenth will be the bride
Married off to the churches
That the work of God may abide
Caleb Nnamani ‘CNC’
Tensions flow when the month is close
That the tenth of my all will roll to a treasury I do not owe
Oh! that was the same that granted Jesus’ widow’s two mites
Lots of debates and delay for the reprobate to pay
But the truth, true disciples of Jesus give their all
Adeyemi Adetunji
When we have a tight relationship with God
Should more offerings be paid?
The treasures of God are filled up
By the money of cheerful givers
We have worked righteously to earn it
Tantolorun Omotayo
In fruitful land I give
Owed to the unmerited love he gave
Dispersing my poverty and shame
Not in tenth, but in full
But asking for a payback in one tenth
Grace Elioku
Working hard doesn’t always mean getting paid
Again I heard it loud, “bring it to the store house”
I looked confused yet dipped my hands in my unpaid pocket
I was surprised to see a mouse in my blouse
Even while in the Store House

For ye have robbed me, does that word ring a bell?
I mean imagine the Creator who needs nothing from you saying we rob him
No, you’re probably wondering and you can’t wait to ask – in what way
The answer is simple
If you don’t pay your tithes, you rob your Creator

Words from heaven
Have you seen the sun shining so bright?
Have you seen the moon? would you take off with your flight
Have you seen the blue sea in the night?
All these are gifts of nature, yet we don’t pay our tithe
Izzy Prince
Some folks fail to pay their tithe
They’ll tell you their condition is too tight
That below ten percent is okay due to their plight
But their ways are based on false insight
And that’s why poverty catches them overnight
