Stella Uzoigwe

I can see the clouds are gathered,
Come and reign!

I want to draw from your eternal well,

Let it rain!

Let my iniquities be blotted out from my being,

Come and reign.

I want to be called by your name,

Stir my cup till it runs over.

Let my sacrifice and obedience towards you,

Bring my walls crashing down like that of Jericho.

Let me not rest, till I come to your place,

Of purpose, fullness and fulfilment.

I want to be far from Mount Pisgah,

Walk my feet to thy promised land.

Deliver me O Lord, from the hands of strange things and falsehood,

That I may be strengthened and full of life.

Quench every quest for power, wealth and  beauty,

The boundless pit of vanity is their lot.

I want to sit with you my Love,

Uproot my in-built essence.

In thy charming garden, plant me,

That I may bear fruits of temperance and peace,

Meekness and longsuffering, joy and goodness, faith and gentleness,

And love, engraved at the very centre of my heart.

I want to stand on your white carpet,

And show you off to the world.

Wreck my generic makeup,

And deal with every woven element of worldliness.

Fine-tune me with your wisdom and a discerning spirit.

Break me up, whatever it takes.
