Spoken Word

HAPPY WORLD POETRY DAY!!!

The month of March is full of celebration. It was the International Women’s Day on the 8th and today the 21st of March, we celebrate the World Poetry Day. For years, the Spoken Word Ministers of the MFM Headquarters Youth Church Writers’ Club have relentlessly delivered beautiful, imaginative and rhythmical poetic compositions that have inspired the lives of many and drawn the youth closer to God. In celebration of women all over the world and to mark the Word Poetry Day, our Ministers have put together an anthology of beautiful poems with the theme, Woman.

The human race won’t have been complete without the creation of a womb-man, a word which was later metamorphosed into woman. She was made from one of the weakest part of a man, although she was termed a weak vessel, yet she’s so strong in that she possesses the capacity to preserve and carry the man’s seed all through the period of gestation and travail in birth. Of all the creatures created by God, a woman is not just beautiful; she’s endowed with the capacity to procreate life. This made her command respect and she became an indispensable creature before God.

Enjoy!

Soft, tender and gentle
Yet strong and vibrant
A helper and a confidant
A builder of nations
She is a woman.
Ibiremilekun Ibikunle

Standing up walking tall
Beauty never ending
Fragile as an egg
Yet strong as titanuim
A rare gem of human creation, Eve.
Okafor Blessing Chinaza

Though deeper than the blue seas
Wider than the magnetic poles apart
Most beautiful of all creatures
Yet weakest on gentlest touch of words
The only one who completes the wonder in a man, wo-man.
Adeyemi Michael Adetunji

Women
The real definition of an angel here on earth
Most beautiful creatures ever created
Man’s greatest helpmate
Without them, I’m quite sure this world would be so boring… women.
Lawrence Acha

The sun will rise in the east and set in the west
And every tree will in time bend from right to left
So the light will shine through every dark way
For though her world is crumbling down she would be strong
Born out of man.
Praise Sanni-Adeniyi

The space is void without the stars
Upon their faces, glitters and glows of grace
Crony to God, Gentle at heart
My world is made beautiful by the constellation of their virtues
The desire of my heart and the origin of my life.
Kunle ‘Ara’ Adedeji

Resilient and nurturing
She carries love in her heart and wears it on her sleeve
Beauty is not a word enough to describe her
A singular wonder of creation
Daughters of Eve.
Oluwatobi Afolabi

From within she was made
He made her woman
He made her strong and enough
So she could bring forth beauty and greatness
Just as he brought her forth.
Oluwaferanmi Ogundipe

The woman
In pain and suffering
Joyous life she brings
In love aplenty
She nourishes unreservedly.
Dayo Abiodun

With the beauty that God has bestowed upon you
And the wonderful perfection of the body
That makes a man to love or lust but still lost
To the fact that we would all return to the dust
Which means that the only beautiful thing in this world is God.
Omotayo Tantolorun David

Let’s pay tribute to Eve
The stronger vessel who weighs the world on her shoulders
Smiles amidst the storm, to mend shattered heart and heal wounded souls
Distributing joy, peace and laughter
Even when shackled in pains.
Grace Elioku

Of all the creatures created by God
I would say women are the most beautiful of them all
Made from fine bones with streamlined structures of the finest materials
Not just that she possesses the strength of all the element of forces put together
But has since been the true essence on which procreation evolves.
Mercy Onyes

A strong woman claims she isn’t afraid of anything
Looking forward to challenges each day will bring
But a woman of strength kneels to pray
Her soul in shape, God leading the way
Declaring triumph through faith because God is near.
