Oluseyi Adebanjo

Her screams brought me to this world
Her palms weighed my puff soft skin
Her liquid fed me as a tod
More will she do even if I was a twin.

Her smiles quell my naughty cries
As she pets and gives me tasty cereal
These entirely she does cos am hers
Cos by nature it’s an innate drill.

Her careful love made me grow in speed
Passing the thin line of infanthood to childhood
Sleeping with a filled tummy as her precious seed
Then she covers me with her warm shroud.

When my naughtiness became over-heated
Her care and love became over-treated.

The umbilical cord is the connection key
Enough sign that she is my mother
Rare qualities are these that kept me
All cos she is a woman.
