Text: Matt. 11:12, Hos. 12:4, Gen. 32:22-30.

To prevail means to triumph, to overcome. It could also mean being effective. Jacob fought the ultimate battle in Gen. 32:24-30 and prevailed. He did, because he had an non-negotiable resolve to prevail. I urge us, in like manner, to endure and face all the attacks of the enemy with all the courage we can summon. So many people are fighting lost battles solely because they aren’t engaging the right authority. I recall the story of a woman I once knew who was burdened financially. Her best efforts to turn the tide landed her in deeper financial trouble. Long story short, after she sought Jesus and employed the right approach, it became clear to her that her occult husband was behind her woes. Thanks to God, this revelation was the beginning of her deliverance.

I pray for you that the wicked powers that want you to die in your predicament shall die in Jesus name.

Biblical examples of those who prevailed

  1. Moses (Exo. 10: 8-29);
  2. David (1 Sam. 17:36-59);
  3. Paul (Acts 13:8-11);
  4. The three Hebrew children (Dan. 13: 6-20);
  5. Daniel (Dan. 6:10).
