To ever make a positive impact that creates an impression on (various) kinds of people, you have to be an agent of transformation. You should also take note that you can be an impact in any field of your life you intend to major on.
It is important to make an impact – a positive one – because God created you and you are an instrument to impacting his other creatures on earth. In other words, you are instrumental to God’s divine plan. Another reason is that you are meant to be a contributor to God’s world and not just a consumer.
You should not only listen to other people who are used by God, you should also be used by God to impact the life of another. You also have to make an impact because you will definitely be remembered for the impact you make. It is a thing of beauty to look down from heaven after you’re long gone and watch others on earth remembering the impact you made in your generation just like what the inventors did years ago.
There are many obstacles to creating impact but if we diligently follow the keys to making an impact, as Christians, we wouldn’t even have such issues.
The keys to creating impact by Dr. D.K. Olukoya listed are:
1. You must be a friend of God.
2. Let the bible be your companion.
3. Live a holy life.
4. You must be humble.
5. You must study.
6. You must have a vision.
7. You must seek for competence.
8. You must be a prayer addict.
9. You must be obedient to God.
10. You must seek to live an exemplary life.
11. You must invest in your personal growth.
12. Pray for anointing.
13. Embrace change.
14. Pursue a life of excellence.
Also, there are ten categories of people in life as illustrated by the writer. Among them, you are only advised to belong to two of them:
1. Those who make things happen and
2. Those who are significant or outstanding.
Impact is an indelible effect you add to another person other than yourself. It is in three stages for all humans. It is either you have no impact or you have a negative impact or you have a positive impact.
It would be great if everyone can have a positive impact as it would reflect on the people we come in contact with. Only then can we positively change the world’s narrative.
