Life is laced with different phases and sometimes we go through seasons that can make us feel like heaven has shut its windows on us. Seasons that can make us doubt God’s love for us and in times like that it can be easy to lose faith and say, “Come on God, give me a break.”

I might not have used these  exact phrases but I  would be lying if I say I haven’t said words similar to them in time past, sometimes life can get very tough and that’s ok,  occasionally, we might experience scarcity in good things of life and finance that’s ok too because these are seasons that we must pass through.

In Genesis after God destroyed the world with flood during the time of Noah, he said these words “While the earth remaineth, seed time and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.”

Life is in seasons – the good, the bad – and they both are part of our unique experiences that make us human but I would add that what isn’t ok is when these negative seasons of want and scarcity refuse to come to an end after we’ve believed, worked hard without experiencing changes.

The Bible said in Hosea 4:6 my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. “Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children.

If there is any weapon that is well equipped to deliver from an unending season of want, it is “Knowledge” because if we dig deeper the reason why we go through hardship is because our eyes was opened to the knowledge of good and evil.

I mean think about it, how was life in the garden of Eden before Adam bit into the forbidden fruit? My point exactly.

Financial hardship is an offshoot of the conversation that happened at Eden so if knowledge opened the door to hardship then knowledge can shut it.

Earth was cursed due to Adam’s disobedience, which brought about hardship.

The question is what is the way out? I might not be able to give you a long list of “Things to Do”  but what I can show you is a way out that surpasses knowledge.

In Ephesians 3:19 the Bible said “and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” Verse 16 stated: that He would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man.

Verse 18 made us understand the breadth, length, depth, and height of this love that surpasses knowledge.

The love of Christ is the Key. The Bible say, “seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you”, with the revelation from this passage it’s high time we revisited our priorities.

Maybe you’ve been chasing the wrong things and the financial hardship you’re currently going through is God trying to tell you that you have misplaced priorities as sometimes, God uses hunger as a corrective measure.

And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger…Deuteronomy 8:3

So if you’re experiencing an unusual season of scarcity, take a deep breath, revisit your priorities, is His Love first on the list? Make adjustment accordingly and believe that there’s light at the end of the tunnel.
