The book of Matthew opens our minds to some mysteries that many children of God overlook. In each of the temptations that Jesus passed through, he confidently quoted the scriptures to tackle the enticement of the devil. We fall flat before the enemy when we do not know the word of God.
When you confront the enemy without the word of God in you, you will fall prey and become defeated. The same thing happens to our prayers. Christian prayers are potent when they are backed by the word of God. This implies that in every situation you face, it is compulsory you say “it is written… “.
Every individual must know the word of God. It is when the word of God is not in you that you become a victim of the enemy.
When we do not know the Bible enough, we sadly cheat ourselves. John the Baptist devoted himself to studying the Bible because he knew the importance of Bible mastery. Immediately the word of God came to him, his destiny changed and people began to rush to him because God’s word came unto him.
Your mind is you! You should not allow the devil to take control of it. Our only defense is the inspired word of God. Jesus used it, therefore you can too.
When you confront the enemy without the word of God, you will be defeated – all believers must be Biblically literate.
Your prayers become more potent when they have the word of God in them.
The Bible is the greatest of all books; it is the only book that talks about the past, present and future.
To permanently defeat Satan, you should follow these principles:
- Know God’s word. Be Biblically literate. Bible study is a necessity. You stand on three legs if you must succeed as a Christian; Holy Spirit, Prayer, and the Word of God.
- You must memorize the scriptures, Psalm 119: 11.
- Meditate on the word of God. Meditation is to the inner man what digestion is to the outer man.
- You must use the word of God
