What is a negative attitude?

1. It is an intention to create negative behaviour or outcome.

2. It is a disposition, feeling, or manner that is not constructive

Principles of life to address negative attitude

1. Whatever is in a man’s heart will be created around him. Matthew 12:35

2. Identify what is dominant in your heart presently

3. When what is outside is stronger than what is inside, your heart will fail, and the devil will take over your heart

4. Stop struggling with what is outside; change what is inside first

5. The devil never moves against your strength; he moves against your weakness. Whatever you fail to deal with will come back to deal with you.

6. Ask yourself where the thought is coming from before you take it.

Examples of negative attitude

1. Ingratitude (to God and fellow men)

  • Ingratitude will close doors and establish stagnation in our life.
  • Ingratitude is a mistake that delays miracles

2. Living in strife. James 3:16; Prov 20:3

  • Strife takes your focus off your future and places it on another person
  • Strife will make you live in order to create an impression… When you do this, you cannot give expression to what God has deposited inside you
  • Strife is a deadly enemy that must be dropped in our daily life.
  • Allowing strife to go unchecked is to open the door for every evil work to continue

3. Laziness. Prov. 20:4

  • When you are lazy to do the right thing at the right time, you’ll lack food.
  • The extent of your responsibility determines the extent of your possibilities. For things to change in your life, take up responsibilities.
  • Laziness will limit your potentials.
  • The easiest way to get your destiny rotten is to be inactive and lazy
  • Laziness is the stupidity of the highest order
