“And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.” Luke 2:52

Favour, in any sense of it, is an enabling, which makes human endeavours easy and productive. Favour may also imply a selective preference in good tidings. It would be necessary to note that favour is essential and is a must-have in life.
Jesus experienced favour; this amplifies how important this vital component is for us. Now, against the general belief that favour is for the incompetent to qualify, would we dare call our Lord incompetent? God forbid!
Favour in the scriptures is tied to grace, we find inside of Christ an extension of favour defined in grace. This is not a mark or sign on the undeserving, it is a working on the inside of every believer by God himself.
In essence, favour showcases in everything we do, and we must recognize this, lest we fall to pride. No effort of ours, no matter how much effort we put in, can prevail without favour; no wonder our Lord Jesus gives gratitude to the father for every work done; our hearts should become conformed to gratitude.
It is important to note that we grow in grace through knowledge of our Lord Jesus, not just by praying for favour alone because favour is dished out to us. I am not suggesting we do not pray but I know favour surpasses prayer and is more available to the humble.
On a final note, favour is always ours. It’s not a function of the outward; it is a characteristic of our inward. This is the life of faith. Shalom.
