Daniel 5:12, Proverbs 22:29

Excellence or distinction implies something out of the ordinary. It also means to be better than others, to stand out in the midst of the crowd, to be unique, to be distinctive in all aspects of life and to excel in your chosen career.

As Christians, we all desire to attain greater heights in our various endeavours: career, academics, business, marriage, health, finance, skilled work etc. Some people attain the state of excellence through hard work; some are born with phenomenal talents, while others attain it through praying destiny-changing prayers.

Daniel excelled in a strange land because the spirit of God was with him. He interpreted dreams during the reign of king Nebuchadnezzar and excelled where the magicians, astrologers and sorcerers failed (Daniel 5:12-20).

Excellence does not come cheaply and so if you desire it, you must be ready to work hard, discipline yourself and read valuable materials for self-development. You also need to develop a sound relationship with God through the help of the Holy Spirit because excellence is one of the dimensions of the spirit of God and it can come only from Him.
