How to make the Holy Spirit your best friend
1. You must have hunger/possess strong hunger for Him. Matt 5:6
Vs 6: “Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.”
2. You need to initiate the friendship.
a. Give Him your attention
b. Secure His attention
c. Give Him your time
d. Invite Him consciously and constantly
3. Willingness to submit to Him and follow Him.
4. Create a conducive atmosphere for friendship.
5. Disconnect from any person or thing whose influence makes you compromise your integrity with God. 1 Cor 6
6. Never join the crowd in the wrong direction.
7. Make up your mind to do what others avoid even when it is not convenient. Be determined to go an extra mile.
8. Maintain a sense of value for his presence.
9. Respect His person.
10. Demonstrate a pure motive in your dealings with Him. Sincerity of heart.
11. Repent of any manifestation of lustful character in your life because the Holy Ghost knows your motives.
12. Tame your appetite, be in charge of your appetite Heb 12 if you can’t control it, you will lose your inheritance in him.
13. Recognize his voice. John 11, Gen 3:8-10
Prayer points
- Lord I repent today any manifestation of lust that is keeping the Holy Spirit away from me in Jesus name.
- Holy Spirit take all of me and give me all of you.
