“Vs 20: He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.”

When God is set to bless a person He sends His word. When He is set to transform a life, He sends His word. The word that works in your life is the one that enters you NOT the one you jot and put under your pillow but the one in your heart.

The time of the word of God is a time for destiny encounter, complete transformation, and the move of God. You need the word of God to compete against the wickedness of the world.

Repeat this 3 times: The word of God will change me today.

If you are born again, one of the reasons you were not taken to heaven immediately you gave your life to Christ is because God still needs you here. There is an assignment for you on earth. God wants you to use this new life to impact your world.

One of the reasons you are living is to impact your world and not to merely occupy space. The reason you’re yet to be raptured is so you can impact your life, people around you – your world.

In 2 Cor 7 Paul writes a letter to the Corinthians.

Corinth was a commercial hub just like Lagos. It had two seaports. The church in Corinth was a church filled with the gifts of the Holy Spirit. It was also a completely carnal church. When Apostle Paul left the church for Macedonia, he left some brethren and was inspired by God to write this epistle to them. One of the striking things to look out for was that although they were carnal church, they praised themselves with the gifting of the Holy Spirit. 2 Cor 7:7

“Vs 7: And not by his coming only, but by the consolation wherewith he was comforted in you, when he told us your earnest desire, your mourning, your fervent mind toward me; so that I rejoiced the more.”

There are still brethren with fervent minds in the church. Every time Paul remembered the church in Corinth, what gladdened his heart were the few that stayed fervent. It meant their fervency impacted his mind so much that he could not forget.

If you are going to impact your world, you must develop such a mindset. A habit you must inculcate; a spirit you must possess is fervency.

Until you become fervent, you cannot impact your world. Nothing provokes the spirit of impact like the attitude of fervency. To impact your generation, you must develop a fervent mentality. Ever seen a person that impacts his world without being passionate about anything? Impacting your world requires the attitude of fervency.

What does it mean to be fervent?

1. To be hot

2. To be zealous

3. To be passionate Daniel 3

If you are fervent for the lord, you cannot bow to what others are bowing to. You will not defile yourself. Daniel 3

People who impact the world don’t do it by word of mouth, they do so by their commitments and actions. If you stand for nothing, you will fall for anything. Fervent people have a stand and people know their stand.

They dare what scares others, examples are Shedrach, Meshach, Abednego, David.

A man or woman fervent for the Lord is on a mission/course.

They don’t settle for bargain Christianity Luke 9:57; Mark 10

One of the greatest challenge this generation has is distractions.

Three key areas you need to be fervent if you are going to impact your world:

1. In the pursuit of God’s purpose for your life.

You can’t afford to be careless because God’s purpose is the reason for your living. You need to be passionate about God’s purpose for your life. Acts 13:36. David was not perfect but he was a great man. The greatest tragedy in life is not death, poverty, marital delay, it is a life without purpose. Living is meaningless without purpose. Purpose cannot be overemphasized. Jesus lived and died in purpose. John 18:32. It is not how long but how well.

2.The use of your talent to serve God.

We live in a generation where many have commercialized the gift of God to them. There is a place to commercialize and serve God with your talent. However persons are acting like they acquired the talent themselves. You have the talent but you must use it decently in serving God

3.Godly character.

For every life that will impact destiny, there is a lifestyle that is needed. You cannot live anyhow and want to impact your world. Be fervent in living a righteous life. Be fervent in humility. Jesus was humble, who are you not to be? You don’t stroll into greatness, you work towards it.

For those who take pride in talent, note that talent is useless without Godly character. As God has endowed you, you must work with Godly character so your character won’t be the architect of your downfall.

Prayer point:

My father, anything in my life slowing down my destiny die in the name of Jesus.
