The book – THE MYSTERY OF CHARACTER talks about the basic facts of Character and the reason why it is necessary to have a good character. It also aptly defines character in view of the flaws people normally have, showcasing the behaviour that reflect at the not-so-good times as their true character. This book breaks into four (4) chapters and we will be reviewing them accordingly.

The First Chapter, describes Character as the sum total of all features and traits that make you an individual.  Character makes you who you are. Character is just YOU. It is who you are when nobody is watching. It is who you are when faced with temptation. Its foundation is based on how you respond to happenings in your life. That instance when someone says, “I will show you my true colour” – Yes! That is their character they intend to show you. They ‘the speakers’ do not assume it is their character, they just felt they are were angry and needed to show it. The truth is you will not do anything that is not in your character – that is your traits – even if you are angry. When you do something that doesn’t portray you in the image of God – that is having a godly character, it is a character disorder.

A character disorder doesn’t necessarily mean you are abnormal like one with brain damage or something. It means you are not yet perfect in terms of character. We are and at a point in life we’ve experienced unpleasant situations; hence adjusting to the tough world by developing some unpleasant characters. The truth is God has called us to a better life than we have no matter the kind of life you had previously or presently. You can be better in terms of character. God is ready to help you achieve just that.

The world today is looking for people who would be emphatic, and whose NO will be NO and their YES will be YES.

Intellect and Reputation are sure good BUT you can’t rule your world with just that. You need CHARACTER.

Success without a good character foundation is bound to failure. Your character might just be what you have to change not necessarily going for deliverance. Your character is your true image in the sight of God, How do you want God to see you?

Examine yourself now. Do you have a character you are willing to change? You just need to repent and pray to God to change it for you. And he will. Catch you in the next chapter; till then, stay blessed!
