A popular quote says “show me your shoes and I will tell you where you can walk into.” Okay I just made that up but quite honestly, shoes are a very important part of your fashion statement. You can easily tell a person’s fashion sense with the way they choose their shoes.

So, what does this mean?
Do I have to buy shoes for different outing purpose?
Well, you can if you do not mind the cost and space implication but there is an easier way to keep your pay cheque in check and still look good as a modest modern woman.

I remember one time, I was invited to friend’s wedding. I had the Aso-ebi but my worry was the shoes, I needed to buy new shoes to fit perfectly with my new clothes and this definitely meant spending the money I did not have. It dawned on me then that just like many other women, I have been choosing my shoes wrongly.
Then, I changed the way I bought my shoes and started to buy shoes that I could pair with different clothing from my wardrobe and for a variety of outing too. Now, I have a couple of shoes that I can very well wear to a party, church, work, hangout with friends and still look beautifully dressed.

As a woman, there are some must-have shoes that should be in your rack. These should be shoes that you can wear for a variety of outings and they should not break your savings as well.

Pumps

Heeled Sandals.

A personal favorite of mine, these are my go-to shoes for events. A dinner retreat at work, owambe, girls hangout , just keep naming it. Heeled sandals will not disappoint you.

Sneakers

I have heard many times that many people feel athletic when wearing a pair of sneakers. While that is true, it also depends on how you wear the sneakers. These are definitely comfortable and a must have for you especially when you want to look casual.

Flat shoes

These could be sandals, slippers or loafer but it’s definitely a must-have in your closet. You never know when you need them but they just find a way to come in handy on some special days.

Remember that looking good should not have to break your bank and a good way to start is to choose your shoes right!
