Text: 2 Kings 6:24-30

Beloved, we are in hard times, and these are trying times. The global economy is in shambles; many discouraging things are on the news daily. Sadly, these things have given birth to plenty of children; parts of which are:

1. Depression.

2.  Discouragement

3. Mental instability/sickness

4. Anxiety

5. Fear.

6. Backsliding

7. Despair

8. Heaviness of the soul

9. Faithlessness.

… as believers, we need to stand firm.

How do we then stand in times like these?

1. Remember and note down one thing that God has done for you before. (Psalm 126:1-2)

2. Engage in praises to God. (Isaiah 61:3)

3. Focus more on the positives. (Philippians 4:8)

4. Understand that you are victorious ahead of the battle. (2 Corinthians 2:14)

… before your challenges come, victory is guaranteed.

5. Understand the sovereignty of God. (Daniel 3: 16 – 18)

6. Holding on to God’s promises and speaking it out. (2 Corinthians 4:13)

… faith is never quiet; it is a speaking and fighting spirit.

7. Exercise your authority. (Matthew 8: 5-10)

8. Let God know you are trusting in him alone, and he’ll surely sustain you. 1 Kings 17:4-8

Don’t rationalize God; trust Him, and He’ll surely do it for you.
