Where do you see Covenant Partners in the next five years?

In the next five years, I see God raising highly professional and spirit-filled business tycoons by reason of covenant with Him; thus bringing the church into the realm of wealth transfer. There is a lot of wealth in the hands of unbelievers. Men that can run business empires; captains of industries to the degree that the wealth of the gentiles comes back to the church.

What goodwill message do you have for the youths of Nigeria?

My message is this, life is all about process. I know youths can be very restless; if you miss the process, you miss the product. I am a Quality Assurance and Food Safety Professional and it has taken me fifteen years to rise to this point and it is all about following process and taking time out to look for a mentor. It is very important in the 21st century. All you need is to develop a good relationship with a mentor and ride on their shoulder to be able to go very far. So it is very important that youths should have a focus in life and have a mentor to navigate through life successfully.

Pastor Kayode Balogun – Head Pastor of Covenant Partners at the MFM Int’l HQ Youth Church, Lagos

Recently, the Men of Valour (MoV) was inaugurated in the Youth Church. What can you tell us about this group?

Men of Valour as the name depicts is all about men. Every girl will grow up to become a woman and every boy will grow up to become a man; it is a process. It is a life journey but then before you become a man, there are certain ingredients, skills and capabilities that you must have. The Men of Valour was actually created to help men, boys so to say in the Youth Church to discover the “men” aspect of them early enough. You know that the devil is out there to divert destinies, to bury destinies, to pollute destinies. If their destinies are polluted or diverted, then we cannot have good men so to say in the church and also in our home. You will agree with me, it is the family that makes up the church. When you have a man that is robust in terms of knowledge, that is robust and versatile in terms of what he is supposed to do and who can manage the home successfully, I think we will have a church that is relatively trouble free.

Are you the Head Pastor of the Youth Church Men of Valour?

Not really. We have a Chairman but I am there to support and also to help them take reasonable decisions from an experienced point of view.

As the Youth Church marks its ten years anniversary, what message do you have for members of MFM?

Ten is prophetic, ten is unique and the Youth Church has come a long way. We have gone through thick and thin in these ten years. The Youth Church was actually birthed as an experiment, but it is no longer an experiment. It is already a fulfillment of a dream and I think from this point, the General Overseer intends to take it to the next level. While we are celebrating the tenth anniversary, we are also charting a vision for another decade to come. So the message is let us not rest on our oars. There is so much still to be achieved. There are a lot of youths out there the enemy is wasting, so we need to brace up in terms of evangelism. In terms of reaching the unreached and making sure no soul is lost at least within our jurisdiction. So the message is let love continue in our midst. The Bible says we should keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace, so it is very important. Once there is love, unity and peace, there is no limit to what we can do as a church.
